Welcome to the web site of Tropical Coolers. My name is Gavin Reid, proprietor of the business since 1994. Allow me to tell you a little about myself.

My working background has included -

• Plant production in a native plant nursery (South Australia)
• Retail section manager in several supermarkets (South Australia, Northern Territory & Queensland).
• Professional Firefighter (Northern Territory & Queensland)
• Limousine chauffeur (Queensland)

THE BUSINESS
When I first arrived in Tropical North Queensland in 1992, I found that neoprene (wet suit material) coolers were hard to find. Very few businesses had realized the potential of the "Great Australian stubbie cooler" to promote their business/event or region. Stubbie/can coolers are a collectable item, with very few beer drinking households in Australia being without them. I began trading as Tropical Coolers in September 1994 (ABN 30 369 421 077).

Since developing our website, we have moved from being a small regional North Queensland business, to a much larger one, employing directly & indirectly over 20 staff. We have supplied clients world wide, in over 50 countries, ranging from small orders of coolers for private weddings, to large multinational corporations, requiring many thousands of products.

By promoting my business on this site, I hope to extend my services Australia & World wide.

My companion of 14 years, Lisa, lives with me in Hobart, on Tasmania's beautiful East coast. We have recently moved here from Port Douglas so the administration of the business is handled from Hobart, whilst the production facilities have remained in Queensland.

All deliveries leave directly from the production facility in Queensland. The light & unbreakable nature of our products mean that they are easily transported to anywhere in Australia, or World wide.

ORDERING
Ordering goods from me is easy.

• Choose the product/s you would like made for you, and fill out the QUOTE page.
• I will send back a complete quote to supply including road freight costs for Australian delivery, or TNT global express air mail & insurance costs for international delivery.
• Artwork can be sent by you, or designed by us. (See printing techniques)
• Upon completion of artwork, it will be sent to you for final approval.
• After you have accepted our QUOTE & ARTWORK, PAYMENT can be sent.
• The products will then be printed, manufactured, packed & sent to your required delivery address.

DELIVERY
For customers within Australia, we use Australia Post, TNT, Fastway Couriers, McCafferty's Parcel Express, and McPhee Transport. The cost of the most appropriate service will be added to your quote.

For customers outside Australia, TNT Global Express air mail is the most cost effective mode of transport. Insurance (if required, but recommended), & expected delivery times will be added to your quote. A dispatch note/customs declaration and your receipt is attached to your consignment when the goods leave Australia. If duty is payable on the goods when they enter your country, TNT will usually pay this for you, then forward you an invoice for payment.

PAYMENT
After your order & artwork approval have been received, the goods must be paid for in full before they are printed, manufactured, packed and then sent to your delivery address.

For customers within Australia, payment can be sent by cheque, money order or direct debit. For customers outside Australia, payment can be sent by direct 'wire' transfer in the quoted amount of Australian Dollars, bank account details will be e-mailed to you.

We also have credit card facilities for Visa, Bankcard and Mastercard.
